My intersections as a bi-cultural, Taiwanese, first-generation immigrant woman give me insight into how cultural factors influence personal, relational, intergenerational, and systemic aspects of the human experience. These identities and my lived experience equip me to work with an intersectional lens and help develop a deep understanding towards clients.
As someone who continues to navigate and heal through interpersonal, familial relationships and intergenerational trauma, especially within the context of transitioning between cultures, I understand the challenges and pain my clients may be experiencing. I see you and would like to invite you to reach out and see how I can best support you on your journey.
As a visual artist, I believe in the magic of art
By opening up creatively, instinctively, and authentically through exploration and play, we are able to connect to our true selves and the unconscious realm of your being. Art has provided me an avenue to gain a deeper sense of self-awareness in my ongoing healing journey and I hope to walk alongside yours.
My style is relaxed, warm, and conversational
This allows clients to feel comfortable and respected. I have always enjoyed making deep connections with others and believe it is the foundation of any relationship, especially in a therapeutic setting. I also strive towards justice, inclusiveness, and community building while being kind and compassionate towards myself and others. I engage in ongoing learning and constant self-reflection in my personal and professional life.
I incorporate a variety of approaches such as IFS parts work, inner child work, mindfulness techniques, and somatic work in my practice to see what support your needs.

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Hello and welcome! I’m Jill, a first-generation immigrant and therapist fluent in both English and Mandarin. My work is rooted in a relational, humanistic, and integrative approach, drawing from parts work, IFS, attachment theory, and emotion-focused practices. I believe therapy is a place where you can come home to yourself — with all the complexity, beauty, and challenges that make you who you are.
Much of my passion lies in supporting people through transitions in identity, relationships, grief and loss, family dynamics, emotional regulation, career paths and more. I know from my own lived experience how overwhelming and isolating these struggles can feel, and how healing it is to finally have a safe and compassionate space to explore them.
In our work together, my hope is to help you reconnect with your inner strengths, heal parts of yourself that carry old pain, and move toward relationships — with yourself and others — that feel safe, genuine, and nourishing.
It would be my honour to walk alongside you on your journey of growth and healing. I warmly invite you to reach out when you feel ready!
If you have any questions or concerns, or if none of the time slots work for you, please feel free to reach out at jillhearttoarttherapy@gmail.com - I’ll try my best to accommodate.

Hello and welcome to my page! As a first-generation immigrant woman, I provide therapy sessions in English, Mandarin or Cantonese, with a culturally sensitive, intersectional, and humanistic approach. I have deep care and understanding, because of my own journey of living, studying, and working abroad alone for the last decade, for the need to have a safe space to explore all of the unique challenges and nuances of your experiences. I get it, it can feel scary, lonely, isolating, and tiring to fight alone, but I believe this can also be the birthplace of resilience, fun, and opportunity to create the life you love living in.
One of my passions lies in supporting those through challenging relationships. My goal is to help you work through relationship injuries and rebuild your sense of self so that you feel grounded, comfortable, and confident in your own skin, and so that you can find relationships that align with the kind of love and care you want to receive and give.
I believe we are all wired for connection, and that’s why we get hurt, but also how we heal. I do come into this work with my own story of trauma and healing, which brings empathy and understanding to our sessions. It’ll be my honour to support you through the journey of growth and healing, hope to see you soon!

Living, studying, and building a life in a different country can be both meaningful and incredibly overwhelming. As someone who has personally experienced the challenges of adapting to new environments, navigating cultural differences, and managing the pressure that often comes with life transitions, I understand how isolating these experiences can sometimes feel.
Many people spend so much time trying to hold everything together that they slowly lose touch with their own emotional needs. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, relationship difficulties, loneliness, self-doubt, academic pressure, or uncertainty about where you belong, therapy can become a space where you no longer have to carry everything entirely on your own.
I work particularly well with international students, immigrants, and young adults who may feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught between different expectations, identities, and stages of life. I understand how difficult it can be to adjust to unfamiliar environments while also trying to maintain relationships, academic performance, and a sense of stability within yourself.
My style is warm, relational, collaborative, and deeply respectful of each person’s unique experiences. I believe healing often begins within a safe and genuine therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, emotionally supported, and accepted without judgment. Rather than focusing only on “fixing problems,” I aim to help clients better understand themselves, reconnect with their emotions, and build a more compassionate relationship with who they are.
I draw from approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and humanistic approaches, depending on each client’s needs and goals. Together, we may explore emotional patterns, relationship dynamics, coping strategies, self-worth, and the experiences that may be keeping you feeling stuck or emotionally exhausted.
I believe healing does not mean becoming a completely different person. Sometimes, it begins with learning how to understand yourself more gently, reconnect with your inner strengths, and create a life that feels more authentic, meaningful, and emotionally sustainable.
Living, studying, and building a life in a different country can be both meaningful and incredibl... Read More
